On October 7 Archbishop Lauro Tisi of Trent, Italy, and the Lutheran Lay Bishop Karl-Hinrich Manzke from Germany washed each-other’s feet during an ecumenical prayer in the Dome of Trent. Tisi said in his homily that during this year’s Luther jubilee Catholics and Protestants looked at each other with a new, benevolent and positive view.
