Profile

Born to the nobility, the daughter of Lescon V, Duke of Cracow, and Sandomir. At the age of three years, she was given in a political marriage to Colomon, a prince of Hungary, and the brother of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. Widowed, Salomea followed a call to religious life; she became a Franciscan Poor Clare nun, founded a monastery, and eventually serving as its abbess.
