Christian statues destroyed and beheaded in savage 'religious revenge’ attack in Germany

POLICE are investigating the destruction of around 50 Christian statues in Germany that have been destroyed in a religiously motivated attack.

50 Christian statues DESTROYED in German countryside

The neighbourhood in Germany is shocked and scared after the hateful attacks which have seen many Christian statues beheaded and damaged.

Havixbeck, which is situated in the countryside in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, is now the focus of a special investigation.

Shown in the clip, different statues can be seen broken and defaced in the cruel attacks.

The police have said: “This is property destruction that is in the open and is of course noticed right away.

“Also a large number of the people in the neighbourhood where the sculptures are, were shocked and scared.

“The police want this fear to disappear as soon as possible.”

As the destruction is of a religious nature, the police have passed the investigation on to the secret police department.

Police believe the nature of the attack is a result of religious hatred of the Christian church.

Criminologist Christian Pfeiffer said: “From my point of view much would indicate that it’s about someone who feels powerless against the Catholic Church, who couldn’t have his ‘revenge’ in any other way.

“Who is angry and hates the Church, and now is having his own revenge.”

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anybody acting suspicious around the sculptures in the past couple of weeks.

But have admitted that their progress will depend on the quality of the tips they receive from the public.

Police say that this hateful act needs to be solved and they need to stop the continual wreckage of sculptures.

In November a five member investigative group was enforced to try to stop the hurtful crimes.
