DIAGRAMS IN PHILOSOPHY

The Six Pillars of Intellectual Insanity

Explanation: To understand this chart, it is necessary to begin at the bottom. The two main pillars upon which all intellectual insanity rests are Subjectivism (a dogma of epistemology and metaphysics) and Relativism (a dogma of ethics, moral philosophy, and political philosophy). The pillar of Subjectivism affects our Intellectual Integrity, while the pillar of Relativism affects our Moral Integrity. The next four pillars are derived from Subjectivism and Relativism and rest on those two main pillars. All the other "isms" are really derivatives of the six pillars of intellectual insanity. For a more complete discussion of the six pillars of intellectual insanity, see the Dolhenty Interview.

This chart was designed by Dr. Jonathan Dolhenty and based on his analysis of philosophic systems and the history of those systems. He is solely responsible for this interpretation.
