“How to apply for a lump sum payment to leave or retire from farming” reads the government’s guidance.

“The scheme is for Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applicants in England who wish to leave farming, either to retire or take up a different occupation.”

The purpose is allegedly to fulfill Green policy agendas. Older farmers, who don’t want to change their farming methods, are being asked to quit or sell their land. In turn, new farmers can adopt alternative, environmentally friendly farming techniques.

Last year, England’s Environmental Secretary said older farmers are “standing in the way of change.”

Of course, what makes it easier for farmers to cave and sell their land is the fact that so many are in debt and barely hanging on.

Rising prices on fertilizer, gas and just about everything else needed to do their jobs have made the government’s offer tempting.

To this point, The Tenant Farmer’s Association of England ran a poll that suggested 75% of farmers were “seriously interested” in the offer, as reported by BBC.

Similarly, in the Netherlands, the government has also targeted farmers and have positioned themselves to purchase their lands, supposedly as part of a green push.

Hoewever, Dutch politician Thierry Baudet says the green policies being protested by farmers are part of the Netherlands’ commitment to the WEF’s Great Reset agenda.

As for Canada, former Agriculture Minister Devin Dreeshen is concerned the same thing is being done to Canadian farmers by PM Justin Trudeau.
