A spiritual student of Saint Cadoc of Llancarvan, Machan was educated in Ireland where he was ordained a priest. He made a pilgrimage to Rome, Italy where he was consecrated a bishop. Missionary to pagans in the area of Campsie Glen near Glasgow, Scotland. Known as a miracle worker, he once turned some stolen oxen to stone so that the bandits stole them would not benefit from the theft.
