Over 50 weapon-laden aircraft to move to Siberia in Russia's military snap check

The fighters, bombers and attack aircraft are to be deployed at a distance ranging from 2,500 km to 4,000 km

MOSCOW, September 9. /TASS-DEFENSE/. More than 50 tactical aircraft with the Eastern Military District will move to operational airfields in central Siberia during the ongoing surprise check of the Central Military District, the Russian Defense Ministry press office told TASS on Wednesday.

"The fighters, bombers and attack aircraft are to be deploy at a distance ranging from 2,500 km to 4,000 km. The aircraft will carry their organic external weapons," the press office said.

They will be assigned missions upon arrival to designated airfields, the press office added.

The surprise check of the Central Military District is under way during September 7-12 on orders of Russian Armed Forces Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin. About 95,000 personnel, more than 7,000 items of combat hardware and around 150 planes are engaged in it.
