"Door to Hell" or "Gates of Hell" is the creation of nature and inconsiderate soviet engineers. In the 70s, some soviet engineers thought that the site was an oil field. They set up a drilling rig, and instead of oil, they found natural gas. The rig collapsed, and to avoid the release of gas, they started burning it. It has been burning since then, creating orange flames and burning mud.
