A 17-year-old female patient received bnt162b2 (PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE), via an unspecified route of administration on 07Apr2021 15:15 (Batch/Lot number was not reported) as 1ST DOSE, SINGLE for covid-19 immunization. Medical history included history of migraines from an unknown date and unknown if ongoing. Concomitant medication included vitamin d3 taken for an unspecified indication, start and stop date were not reported. Passing out POT syndrome has occurred 10 times since initial vaccine worsening post second vaccine on 13Apr2021 12:00. The patient experienced "passing out POT syndrome has occurred 10 times since initial vaccine" and was reported as worsening post second vaccine. The patient did not receive any other vaccines within 4 weeks prior to the COVID vaccine. Prior to vaccination, the patient was not diagnosed with COVID-19. Since the vaccination, the patient hasn''t been tested for COVID-19. Therapeutic measures taken as a result of the event included a Heart monitor (as reported). Outcome of events was not recovered. We were advised by his pediatrician to have him be seen by a pediatric cardiologist immediately for suspected PoTS. patient was 100% healthy with NO chronic conditions prior to the first dose of the COVID vaccine (Pfizer).

Write-up: Received vaccine 5/22/21 - had some local arm swelling & pain which resolved that night. 5/23 had fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea x2 days with complete resolution. On 5/29, developed urticarial rash on legs & arms - no improvement with OTC Benadryl. No new foods/obvious exposure to other allergens other than family had tried a new scent of their brand of fabric softener. 5/31, developed nausea, vomiting, hand/feet swelling, & had a pre-syncopal episode. Presented to ER; tachycardic with symptomatic orthostatics though vitals otherwise normal. Received IV fluids, Pepcid, Decadron with improvement in HR/symptoms. Continued to be orthostatic with some extremity swelling so received IM Epinephrine - subsequent improvement in rash, nausea. Hospitalized for monitoring. Orthostatis/nausea resolved, vitals remained stable. Some intermittent itchiness/hives present that came & went still present at the time of discharge from hospital. |

Write-up: Within 24 hours of the vaccine started to develop episodes of tachycardia (mom who is a physician measure heart rates as high as 130-140) with minimal activity. He noticed a couple of episodes of heart racing (was not noticing other episodes) but no HR obtained. He developed more pluetitic chest pain at the site of his rib pain and persistent fatigue. Seen in my office three times over the next 7-10 days. and symptoms persisted. Testing included CXR and ECG which were normal. COVID PCR NP swab was negative and blood work was normal (cbc, ebv/cmv titers, thyroid). He was evaluated by cardiology on 5/24/21 and diagnosed with POTS. Currently (early June) he continues to have fatigue significant enough that he can''t get through an entire school day (very atypical for him) and has intermittent pleuritic chest pain (which had mostly resolved about 10 days after the vaccine) The tachycardia has resolved for the most part (within 2 weeks of the vaccine) |

Write-up: extreme fatigue; postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)/ heart rate increased dramatically upon standing; This is a spontaneous report from a contactable physician (parent). A 16-year-old male patient (son) received BNT162B2 (PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE), dose 2 intramuscular, administered in Left arm on 06May2021 13:00 (Lot Number: EW0163) as 2nd dose, single for covid-19 immunisation. The patient medical history was none. no known allergies. concomitant medication was none. the patient did not receive any other vaccines within 4 weeks prior to the COVID vaccine. the patient did not receive other medications within 2 weeks of vaccination. Patient previously received first dose of BNT162B2 (brand: Pfizer, lot number: EW0161) on 15Apr2021 01:00 PM (at age of 16 years old) via Intramuscular into Left arm for Covid-19 immunization in Hospital. Patient is an extremely fit competitive tennis player, developed extreme fatigue 2 days after the second dose (08May2021 17:00), which has now lasted for more than 2 weeks. After getting an smart watch they noted that his heart rate increased dramatically upon standing, and after excluding other possibilities, believe this to be postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) on 08May2021 17:00. event resulted in Doctor or other healthcare professional office/clinic visit, Emergency room/department or urgent care, Disability or permanent damage. Prior to vaccination, the patient was not diagnosed with COVID-19. Since the vaccination, the patient underwent covid tested post vaccination which included Nasal Swab: negative on 14May2021. Treatment received for the events included so far compression socks, rest and diet changes. Outcome of the events was not recovered. Follow up needed, further information has been requested.; Sender''s Comments: A causal association between BNT162B2 and the reported events cannot be excluded based on a compatible temporal relation. Write-up: My daughter experienced on day of her 2nd vaccine, feel nauseated in the evening time, then the second day. Felt very lethargic, fatigue, laying in bed all day, sleeping. She still had nausea also experienced chills, highest temp 99.8F. Her arm pit on the right side where she got the vaccine was really sore. She basically like within a couple of days she started her period cycle again and it was very heavy and lasted one week and half almost two weeks. On 06-08-2021, at about 10pm, she was brushing her teeth when she saw black spots and she went to tell me. At about 11:30pm that night, she squatted to pat our dog and when she got up and she felt really dizzy, lightheaded so I got concerned. Her symptoms persisted and I scheduled an appointment with her pediatrician on 06-15-2021. The pediatrician ruled out anemia. Her pediatrician said she has Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. Her pediatrician said that this is something manageable, she needs to strengthen her calf muscles and drink lots of water. They monitored her heart pressure and blood pressure. Her heart rate had increased to 40bpm. I also gave her Ibuprofen medication after the vaccine. Leading to today she has been having dizziness and light headiness every single day. My daughter is still experiencing symptoms, dizzy and light headed today. For her 1st vaccine- within few days after her 1st dose, she experienced when using the treadmill, she would feel very dizzy. I did not think anything of it at first and this happened three times then it stopped. She also had a sore arm. |
