Profile
Ordained a priest in the archdiocese of Turin, Italy on 20 September 1856. He served as parish priest in Cambiano, Italy, then Vigone, Italy, and then in 1860 in Rivabalda, Italy where the locals varied from indifferent to hostile to the Church. By being a pious example and using preaching, the Rosary, and prayer, he began to win them back to the faith. He founded the Institute of the Daughters of Saint Joseph to educate, train and support local girls, and served as its superior for 28 years.
