Allergies: doxycycline-gastrointestinal.
Diagnostic Lab Data: Eye exam, MRI of brain and orbits, Holter monitor, EKG, Echocardiogram, CT cardiac calcium score.
CDC Split Type:

Write-up: Complete loss of vision in the left eye 12 hours after receiving second dose (Moderna mRNA-1273) while having a fever of 102 F for 6 hours. Loss of vision lasted for 1 minute. Loss of vision occurred while standing. Referral to primary care and ophthalmology specialist found normal eye exam and MRI of orbits but presence of tachycardia especially while standing (fluctuations between 60 beats at rest/laying down to 130 beats per minute standing). Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is suspected. Currently pursuing cardiac workup with cardiologist and Covid POTS specialist. POTS specialist believes autoantibody development after vaccination could be suspected as recovering covid patients similarly present to clinic with POTS like symptoms.

Diagnostic Lab Data:
CDC Split Type:

Write-up: About 12 hours exactly after getting the 2nd dose I got extreme POTS flare up and a mild occular migraine. I had a fever that kept going from the mid 99s to the 101s for 36 hrs. Was freezing and burning and had lots of joint and body pain. Most people I know had all of that, but the reason I?m reporting is the tachycardia. My tachy has been fairly well controlled with meds and after my second dose it was so bad any time I sat up, I couldn?t breath, my tachy got so bad, my heart rate would jump from up to 70bpms, just sitting up. My resting heart rate on meds has been 60-80, and for those 36 hours was 80-110. Anytime I did anything my heart rate would jump to 130-150 and I could NOT BREATH. My SpO2 was fine, so I know that the issue was my POTS flaring up and that it was the tachy. I just want to report that it could cause issues with people with dysautonomia, so they don?t freak out if it happens. My heart rate is still elevated, but is slowly going back down.

Write-up: Pt. was very sick the day after the shot, then Friday morning his heart was going into atrial fibrillation and jumping between 110 heart rate and 160+. He was out golfing when he noticed this. He rested later that day but was extremely tired and felt sick. Saturday morning (2.5 days after vaccine) he needed to go to the emergency room because his heart rate was back over 160. The EKG showed sinus tachycardia and gave him a message for it but it made it worse and the rate was over 200. They had to stop and start his heart then put on beta blocker which brought it to 180, then another beta blocker brought to 150. Following EKGs showed atrial fibrillation, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and super ventricular tachycardia. Pt. had this about a year ago but was fine after a few days. This was the first time he was hospitalized for it and is now on daily medications. He fears the Moderna vaccine triggered it and is very worried about the second dose.
