Abortionist Says Doctors Shouldn’t be OB-GYNs Unless They Will Kill Babies in Abortions

Abortion activists are engaged in an intense push to legitimize the killing of unborn babies by calling abortions medicine and insisting that medical workers either participate in these killings or give up their livelihoods.

Such appears to be the mindset of Leah Torres, an abortionist and OB-GYN who was just named the medical director of the West Alabama Women’s Center in Tuscaloosa.

In an interview with the pro-abortion site Rewire, Torres said she believes OB-GYNs must provide a “full spectrum” of reproductive health care including infertility treatments, prenatal care and abortions.

“I don’t care if you have a religion. I don’t care if you have moral issues. If you can’t do abortion care, don’t go into OB-GYN—just don’t,” she said.

Nowhere else in medical care are certain treatments excluded, Torres argued.

“You don’t see this, for example, in internal medicine residencies, where they learn end-of-life care, where they learn hospice care, where they learn withdrawing life support, where they learn organ transplant donation coordination,” she said. “You don’t see this anywhere else, except when it comes to a pregnant uterus.”

But abortions are not treated like anything else in medicine precisely because they are not medical care. An abortion is the intentional killing of a unique, living human being, and, in almost every case, it is elective. Medical work is about healing and relieving pain, not killing, and this is why so many medical workers object to abortions.

Many abortion activists are pushing openly to force OB-GYNs and other medical workers to abort unborn babies or refer a woman to someone who will.

But women’s health and safety is not their goal.

While Torres insisted that all OB-GYNS must be abortionists, not all abortionists are OB-GYNs. In Louisiana, radiologists and ophthalmologists are doing abortions, and, in some states, nurse practitioners and midwives are allowed to abort unborn babies – despite evidence that abortions done by non-physicians are twice as likely to have complications as those by licensed physicians.

The pro-abortion movement is advocating for at-home abortions, too, which would remove doctors completely from the equation and put even more mothers’ and unborn babies’ lives at risk.

Expanding abortions, a billion-dollar industry, appears to be the real goal.

Soon, Torres will be running the largest abortion facility in Alabama. Under her leadership, the West Alabama Women’s Center plans to expand abortions “to the full gestational limit,” which is currently 20 weeks, according to the report.

Though Torres also touted the non-abortion services that she also plans to provide, the Tuscaloosa facility is expected to remain primarily an abortion facility. Torres will replace abortionist Louis Payne, who is retiring, according to the report. He aborted an estimated 80,000 unborn babies during his life-destroying career. Previously, Torres worked in Utah and New Mexico.

She has made a number of outrageous comments about abortion online. In 2016, when someone asked Torres if she hears the screams of the babies who she aborts, she replied: “You know fetuses can’t scream, right? I transect the cord 1st so there’s really no opportunity …”
