Horrible, tragic news! Especially sad that it happened in Church! May this holy priest rest in peace and enjoy his eternal reward. Prayers for the attackers/ISIS...conversion of hearts is truly needed to end the hatred and killing throughout our world!
Dear Abramo,
In Europe you don't see signs that forbid you to bring a gun into the church.

In Switzerland things are different. However, the European Council Directive of 1991 bans all fully automatic weapons and regulates semi-automatic guns and handguns. While the laws vary somewhat by country, in general, you can only own a gun if you have a license, and licenses are approved sparingly. One of the primary hurdles for would-be gun owners is that they’re required to prove they have a legitimate need for a gun. They must also undergo a background check, which often includes meetings with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Officials may ask about things like the applicant’s family life, alcohol usage, and even temper. If a license is granted, it’s usually for a set period of time, after which the gun owner must re-apply.

The priest killed by ISIS donated land of his parish to build a mosque in Saint Etienne de Rouvray
@Uncle Joe: In Europe you don't see signs that forbid you to bring a gun into the church. For the feast-day of a church there is the custom in many parishes that the young men enter the church in parade with guns.
Dear Abramo,
In light of the increasing terrorists attacks occurring around the world (even in churches), do you believe that properly licensed individuals should be permitted to carry their firearms inside of churches including Sunday mass? And, if their is some kind of written prohibition placed on the entry way to the Church/Chapel should that be ignored since there are no metal detectors and …More
