People are afraid to go to work with a sniffle now so you'd have to factor that in too. Not quite sure how to adjust for that changed behaviour. Also women are usually home carers too so if child sick then they stay home more. It's a complicated problem and does not lend itself to direct comparison with yesteryears data. As regards change from 21 to 22. People are more on site in 22 than they were in 21 so they might decide to continue work if working from home with sniffles whereas they would avoid going to work if they were site based. Take home though, firm efficiency seriously impacted! I suppose it might be good to compare absentee rates in firms where no sick pay is being paid. That might give a more accurate picture of material illness rates.
