Aw, gee... Jungerheld. Selfies aren't all that different than the family photos people have been taking since the birth of casual photography. People have been taking "selfies" literally the moment the hand-held camera became available to the common man.
"...and here we are in front of the Eiffel Tower... "
"...and here we are in front of the Louvre."
"...and here's the missus next to the Mona Lisa"
"...and here is my oldest girl staring at The Dying Slave's junk."

The only thing that's changed is the ease with which such photos are taken and the use of social media to bore a much larger audience.
