Today is the feast of the Dominican pope, St Pius V, who "was so devoted to the Most Blessed Virgin, the Mother of God, that he prayed the Rosary every day, even though as pontiff he was occupied with many concerns." This sculpture in the Dominican chapel in Puebla shows the Archangel Gabriel whose salutation, 'Hail Mary' forms the basis of the Rosary.
