Relic of the Cranium of Saint Dominic.

A Prayer to Saint Dominic by Blessed Jordan of Saxony: "Most holy priest of God, gracious confessor and outstanding preacher, most blessed Father Dominic, be mindful of us and incline your loving ear to the voice of our supplication. Furnished with the weapons of regular life, you set your heart soaring to God. Growing from strength to strength, always advanced from the good to the better. You made your body a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. Formed by divine instruction, you consecrated yourself wholly to God. Aflame with zeal for God and heavenly fire, because of the greatness of your love in passionate fervour of spirit and by a vow of poverty you devoted yourself entirely to the most perfect apostolic religion; providing for this work with profound counsel you founded the Order of Friars Preachers. Glorious leader and gracious Father, blessed Dominic, help us we pray and all who call upon you. Be for us a true Dominic, that is, an assiduous guardian of the Lord’s flock. Guard us always and guide those entrusted to you and with joy after this exile present us to the blessed and beloved Lord, our most high Lord, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, to whom be honour, praise and glory, unutterable joy and happiness for ever. Amen." This relic of the top of the skull of St Dominic is in the safe-keeping of the Dominican nuns in Rome.
