In the grounds of Lübeck's historic Marienkirche is this War Memorial, created in 1929 for the parish by the sculptor Hermann Joachim Pagels in 1929. It mourns those of the parish who died in the two World Wars. I was struck by it, as it was the first such memorial I'd seen in Germany. May they rest in peace. Amen.
