Today's first reading for the First Sunday of Lent recalls the Fall of Mankind through the temptation of the Devil. But in the Gospel, we recount how Christ - the second Adam - overthrew the Devil's temptations, and conquered sin and evil. Thus, he saved humanity from Satan's grasp.
