Roche Openly Admits: Vatican II Invented Some New Religion

Liturgical formation has been “very lacking” in Catholics seminaries, Archbishop Arthur Roche wept crocodile tears in front of Francis journalist Christopher Lamb (TheTablet.co.uk, February 24).

Roche spoke of strong currents among priests who discover the Roman Mass, and Lamb added that it is not uncommon for newly-ordained priests to almost immediately start celebrating it.

The Liturgy Congregation is now preparing a document on liturgical formation in seminaries to counteract this and teach the “richness” of the [failed] liturgical reform. It can be anticipated that everybody will be highly excited.

According to Roche, bishops have expressed “relief” at Francis' crackdown on the Mass but he doesn't say whether they were more than two. There are currently 5,591 bishops.

Roche calls the historical fact that the 1969 Novus Ordo was pushed through against the wishes of Vatican II “ridiculous”. His argument: Paul VI was going through the Novus Ordo texts “page by page” from 9pm to 11pm at night. Thus, Roche confirms the concept of a Pope as "inventor" of "new liturgies."

He also admits that Vatican II invented some new religion because it "changed" the understanding of the Catholic priesthood as “it’s not simply the priest alone who celebrates the Eucharist, but all the baptised who celebrate with him.”

That's nice, Jimmy. The truth often is banal. Your delusions might have some novelty but, like the Novus Ordo Mass, it's a poor substitute.

Roche has been calling the Novus Ordo a different religion from Catholicism for some time. Time to believe them.

The Archbishop could just as easily claim VC II was guided by God. Just because he makes a claim does not make it true.

Eindelijk worden twee zaken duidelijk:
1. Het Rooms Katholieke geloof van na het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie is een totaal ander geloof dan het ware Universele Tridentijnse Rooms Katholieke geloof van voor het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie;
2. De nieuwe, vooral jonge priesters, willen graag de Tridentijnse Heilige Mis opdragen en het ware Universele Tridentijnse Rooms Katholieke geloof belijden en verkondigen van voor het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie.
Dit betekent:
1. Dat het ware Universele Tridentijnse Rooms Katholieke geloof van voor het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie het toekomstige Rooms Katholieke geloof gaat worden;
2. Het Rooms Katholieke geloof van na het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie zal uitsterven en alle besluiten van het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie en de periode daarna zullen worden teruggedraaid.

Archbishop Roche and Pope Francis are worried that young priests "nearly immediately" after ordination start celebrating the pre-conciliar liturgy. Therefore, they are planning to reform the formation of priestly candidates.

If seminary formation is changed to be more centered around the new liturgy, I would expect a mass exodus of seminarians and potential seminarians. From the end f JPII’s days, and for the decade or so after, many seminaries in the US, at least, had tried to encourage a somewhat traditional rule of life, around praying the office, holy hours with adoration, as well as encouraging devotions, both communal and private. Of course, the new liturgical books were used, but, were never loved by the men, who, in increasing numbers, came to find the Old Rite. What Roche seems to want was tried back in the ‘80s in many seminaries. To the extent that “high church” Novus “ordo-ites” exist, they were almost all ordained from the mid-80s to early ‘90s, and they are the ones who curate every liturgical move to bring out the maximum psychological impact. It is a dead end.

If they wanted to be social workers or psychologists they would have gone to college to prepare for those roles.

It is quite ironic of him to imply that the Novus ordo makes the people more involved in the celebration. Certainly, they can see his face, and what he is doing at the altar more easily, but, this gives the action more of the quality of astage performance, rather than joining in the action. The people do make an offering, but, as the priesthood of the baptized differs both in kind and degree from the ordained, so does their offering at Mass. The Novus ordo does nothing but take dignity away from the action of the priest and the baptized. There is a reason why there has been little to no liturgical formation in the ladt 50 years: the bishops don’t want to admit to everyone that the new liturgy has been a vehicle to alter the faith to its core. It has much more to do with Marx than Christ.
