Francis had a brief private meeting with French President Macron during his visit to Marseille on September 23. Macron kept Francis waiting for several minutes, leaving him sitting alone. Francis was visibly annoyed (video below).
The Elysée said the two discussed migration and the euthanasia law that threatens French elderly people. According to the Elysée, Macron showed Francis the bill without going into detail.
But Francis insisted on the return flight that he had not "discussed euthanasia" with Macron during the meeting. Francis is not known for his truthfulness.
