De Mattei vs. Viganò: Why Not Simply Rebut Ideas?

The Roman historian Roberto de Mattei has a hard time in overcoming his preoccupation with the person of Archbishop Viganò.

“I am concerned about a certain conspiracy theorism used by Archbishop Viganò to impose a narrative without a rational foundation,” he writes on CorrispondenzaRomana.it (June 30). Viganò may accuse him of being a conspiracy denier.

A promoter of Covid vaccinations, de Mattei also fears that Archbishop Viganò is used to promote an “anti-vax religion” He adds, “For anyone who rejects the anti-vax faith, excommunication is at the ready.” In the real world, it’s the opposite: The “vax religion” excommunicates those rejecting the vax faith.

Seemingly seriously, de Mattei insinuates that there is a claim “to entrust to Archbishop Viganò a salvific mission within the Church” and blames Viganò for his bold statements on Francis. He repeats his conspiracy theory that Viganò’s positions are “the result of a certain manipulation” although Viganò strongly denied this.

De Mattei even turns Viganò’s words that Francis has surrounded himself with a “magic circle of perverts” against Viganò, although Viganò – unlike Francis - never defended perversion.

In the beginning of his article, de Mattei correctly criticises the fact that today “the truth becomes personalised.” So, why not simply rebut Viganò’s ideas?

...because taking personal shots is a highly effective way of emotionally destabilizing an oppponent during a debate, if they're susecptible to it.

This public argument, largely fed by Dr de Mattei, sad to say, is unseemly and unworthy of these two Catholics. Why fight amongst ourselves as the demons urge us on and wreak havoc amongst the faithful elsewhere?!!

Pray tell, when precisely -- give SPECIFIC quotes -- has Viganò behaved in an "unseemly" manner?
Are YOU saying -- please answer explicitly -- that a victim of
Calumny -- and Viganò IS the victim of de Mattei's Calumny of him -- is obligated to not present the truth in response?

What is ACTUALLY interesting about this is that de Mattei has DROPPED his nutjob claims of there being someone hid behind a curtain somewhere POSING as Viganò .
In this piece de Mattei lays his whining at the feet of VIGANO -- NOT at the feet of the boogie man he trotted out in his last missive.
AND de Mattei lacks the grace of bothering to apologize for his last hit piece even though clearly BASED UPON THIS he's not pushing his man behind the curtain nutcase theory anymore.
