During his annual meeting with the Roman clergy in Saint John in Lateran, Pope Francis told his audience, that "God knows our shameful nakedness."
He revealed that he was very impressed when seeing the original copy of the icon of the Hodegetria of Bari, during his visit in June 2018,
Jesus "was not dressed like now with oriental shirts,” he explained, “Our Lady holds the child naked, I liked it so much that I asked to get a copy.”
The archbishop of Bari presented Francis with it, “I put it in front of my door.”
“I like, in the morning, when I get up, when I step in front of the picture, to tell Our Lady that she may watch over my nakedness: Mother, you know my nakedness."

This "Icon" is clearly not an ancient Icon. It is a modern, crude, imitation of the real thing. It appears to many Traditionalists to resemble a boy cut out from within the pages of a Gay friendly comic book, that has then been rather infantiley, photo-shopped into an authentic Romanesque Sacred Icon, with all the usual Royal Adornments of the original depiction of God

The fact that Francis cunningly says he finds it inspiring is not surprising, for this is all his fake Christ is and more - A cut and paste cartoon "appeals to gays" Christ - thrust into the midst of an Ancient authentic Iconic Saintly Religion - whom bears no real resemblance to the authentic Man-God at all!

Yuk!

What is wrong with him? Is he just a doddering old man, getting senile? Is he forgetting of whom he speaks? It's The Lord, Our God he is talking about. Saying he likes looking at Jesus naked. ugh. I can't take him anymore. The Church is going off the rails and he is talking about looking at a naked Jesus when he awakes in the morning. and asking Our Holy Mother to watch his naked body. Please, Lord, save us from the ruination this heretic is bringing us to.

The quoted statement with this morning ritual reveals pederasty.

The Argentinean revealed his sexual preferences. He said more than he wanted. Natacha Jaitt's affair became plausible through this statement and her death.

@Ultraviolet: You have said it in one sentence: "This really just is NOT the time for a Catholic religious leader to discuss his preference for artwork involving naked children."
Bleifuss
@Don Reto Nay You probably have to be a Talmud scholar to understand this promiscuous nonsense.

@Bleifuss: The Talmud is indeed no easy reading, but is it so bad? 😀

This really just is NOT the time for a Catholic religious leader to discuss his preference for artwork involving naked children. No sarcasm, there, either. Personally, I find Pope Francis' ignorance of religious art more than a little troubling.

I wonder if His Holiness ever considered neither the Blessed Mother nor Our Lord Jesus ever wore golden crowns in their mortal lifetimes. Meaning, our pontif is complaining about an "unrealistic" artistic convention common to Eastern icons (oriental shirts) while praising an icon with an equally unrealistic artistic convention (golden crowns).
