There were some bad years when the Charismatics were more prominent and for some reason we were all supposed to show more physical affection. I don't know why, but the two went together for some reason, even for non-Charismatics.

This stuff isn’t taught in seminaries today. The less physical contact, the better nowadays. It was certainly different when Dolan was going through, but I would think that he naturally exhibits dominance over the people he meets. This is bad, but I don’t think it’s from seminary training.
