Even including "the liturgy", which is how priests sometimes lose control over their parishes

The priest is a distant figure who appears to conduct some of the liturgy (not including the readings or the homily or the sermon or even distributing Communion) and not much else.

All his other work is similar to the head of a major division in a corporate structure, complete with departments and managers for them.
