Vatican Speaker Matteo Bruni said on April 26 that Francis has interrupted today's activities “because of the pain in his knee, and on medical advice,” including participation in the ongoing Council of Cardinals.
Francis has been suffering from gonalgia in his right knee for several weeks. According to physicians a surgical solution is no option because this could lead to other equally delicate problems. The best thing for Francis would be a period of significant rest, particularly regarding walking.
Doctors told IlSismografo.Blogspot.com (April 26) that from how Francis is walking and from his medical history Francis has been struck by an acute gonarthrosis, i.e. a degenerative pathological condition affecting the cartilage of the knee.
Francis’ walking problems are old and have plagued him for many years.

No such luck that Francis is going any time soon it look like. But this is laughable to be so worried about this eprson over a knee. Like I said before, my grandfather has the same type thing. I'f be more sympathetic if they said Francis had cancer that had metasticized. That would be different. But a sore knee (however painful), is no big deal !

You said the exact opposite yesterday. Your words:

Let's pray for him through the intercession of Saint Roch, Patron Saint of those who suffer with knee problems.

So, when JPII and Benedict XVI started having trouble walking, they had the humility to be wheeled around on that mobile platform. JPII never missed anything, unless he was hospitalized, until he was in the very throes of death, if memory serves. So, does he lack the humility to accept physical aid, or is he much sicker than is publicly acknowledged?
