This is a good article but I would like to expand on the role of conscience since a Catholic Bishop and two Catholic priests have said publicly that they will commit murder if their conscience believes they should commit murder. They cite this justification to murder based on CCC 1790 “A human being must always obey the certain judgment of his conscience.” and 1800 “A human being must always obey the certain judgment of his conscience.” This is of course a horrible misinterpretation of the fallible Catechism as you have so rightly pointed out.

Indeed @Chris Griffen What these clerics (and many others) forget is one must first HAVE a conscience in order to obey its judgements. "I'm gonna to do whatever I want because I think it's right" isn't a conscience. It's the absence of one and made all the more terrifying since religion is being used to validate it.
