Novus Ordo Tank Barrier Installed In Cathedral

Vigevano Bishop Maurizio Gervasoni, 68, Italy, unveiled a new table for his cathedral on 17 September. The thing looks like a tank barrier.

It was largely financed by Milan's Cariplo Foundation, which was set up by a bank. The total cost, including a lectern and the bishop's chair, is one to two million euros.

The Eucharistic block is made of marble with a total weight of 9 tons and is decorated in shades of blue and gold. It will be commissioned ("consecrated") on 26 November by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Parolin.
