The Eucharist is a remedy for a soul sick with venial sin, but this medicine cannot be given to the dead—those in mortal sin. The remedy for mortal sin is the sacrament of Confession.

Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has said that pro abortion extremist Nancy Pelosi will NOT be allowed to receive Communion in the future
Francis, “I have never refused eucharist to anyone. If we look at the history of the church we will see that every time the bishops have not managed a problem as pastors, they have taken a political stance on a political problem. What must the pastor do? Be a pastor, don’t condemn.”
As a pro-lifer, I can get used to all this winning.
So far I've seen the following bishopsin support of +Cordileone:
Aquila (Denver)
Barber (Oakland)
Coakley (Oklahoma City)
Conley (Lincoln)
Paprocki (Springfield)
Strickland (Tyler)
Vasa (Santa Rosa)

An act of charity by the Archbishop. May he be blessed for it - and protected.

Deo Gratias!
Can. 915 Those upon whom the penalty of excommunication or interdict has been imposed or declared, and others who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin, are not to be admitted to holy communion.

This would be a last resort. I believe Archbishop Cordileone did indeed make efforts to speak with Nancy Pelosi privately, and likely with great charity. I am grateful he has taken this very serious step for the good of her soul and for the good of the church.
Thank you, Archbishop! The whole Catholic world needs you to do this - we are so grateful! May Our Lady protect you under Her Mantle - please do not back down - regardless of how the dissenting winds might blow~~~. Our Lord is in charge of the storm - He simply needs us to stay strong and refuse to compromise!!

I'll bet that Pelosi couldn't care less and that there are many priest who would give her communion anyway
