The Spanish comic Jordi Évole asked Francis in his Skype interview if even a pope could doubt God’s existence because of the coronavirus.
Francis answered that he has had "doubts of faith" during his life, but not now,
"I have had my crises of faith, and I have resolved them by the grace of God. However, no one is saved from the common path of the people, which is the best, the safest, the concrete path,” Francis idealised.
He stresses that he hopes that the coronavirus crisis "will teach the people to review their lives." His prediction: "We will come out better."
