The short answer is, yes. As you note, even if an algorithm can predict the probability of what you do before you do it, you are still free to do it. All the moreso since you aren't being influenced by the knowledge some mysterious algorithm somewhere has predicted it, pro or con.

The short answer is, yes. As you note, even if an algorithm can predict the probability of what you do before you do it, you are still free to do it. All the moreso since you aren't being influenced by the knowledge some mysterious algorithm somewhere has predicted it, pro or con.

When algorithms inaccurately predict what individuals might do based on large groups of people or decision makers assume algorithms are always correct based on such data (when they are not), this is what leads to injustices.
