Priest Given 30-Year Sentence “With Hard Labor”

The Malawi High Court sentenced Father Thomas Muhosha June 27 to thirty years in prison “with hard labor” for involvement in the 2018 murder of MacDonald Masambuka, 22, an albino.

Five other suspects were handed life sentences. One of them was the victim's brother. Muhosha had planned to sell the body parts of the victim whom his killers lured into a death trap with the promise that they had found him a wife.

The murder of albinos is driven by the superstition that their body parts and bones bring wealth and good luck.
