San Marco Dormitorium.

View of the north corridor in the Dominican convent of San Marco in Florence where Fra Angelico lived and worked from 1439-45. At the request of the Prior, St Antoninus, he painted scenes from the life of Christ and Our Lady in each of these 22 cells which open directly onto a corridor like this one. Today, 18 February, is the feast of Blessed Fra Angelico.
