Munich Abuse Report: Homosexual Networks Rule in German Dioceses

This requires addressing the "problem of adult homosexuality among clergy". The report finds evidence "in considerable numbers" of pronounced homosexuality among clerics who maintain "particularly close contacts" with each other, giving the impression of "closely knit networks" that are maintained up to "prominent positions" in the ordinariate.
The knowledge of homosexual tendencies of a priest colleague goes hand in hand with a "considerable possibility of influence" and a "potential for blackmail". These homosexual networks engage in the "exchange of information" to promote "professional advancement", and "to pursue their own goals for the sake of professional advancement." Therefore they are - according to the report - a "significant contributory cause" for cover-up tendencies.
This is simply "accepted" and "tolerated" in the Church in contradiction to Church law [which, anyway, is only used to suppress old rite Catholics] "in cases of recognised, manifested and also practised homosexuality".
