Tattooed Priest Stands Half-Naked at Novus Ordo Meal Table
Father Dominik Toplek, 49, of Dornbirn, Feldkirch diocese, presented himself bare-chested and with tattoos on his back at the meal table of his parish church to Austrian state television ORF (14 October) as part of a programme promoting a temporary tattoo studio in Toplek's parish centre.
Toplek proclaimed that he does not only preside over "dusty" Eucharists, but considered himself “open-minded". He further let the audience know that he was aware of "provoking" believers while standing at the Novus Ordo meal table with a naked, tattooed upper body.
The tattoo on his back represents Toplek's "creed". It includes the image of Leonardi da Vinci's Vitruvian Man with well displayed genitals.
On Pentecost 2020, Toplek celebrated an invalid Novus Ordo meal Eucharist table parody.
