John Paul II’s Legacy: Another Founder Defrocked

Father Marie-Michel Hostalier, 72, a former Carmelite belonging since 2010 to Valence Diocese, was defrocked for serious offences, dating back many years, against adult women in the context of spiritual accompaniment.

Hostalier participated in the foundation of Father Daniel-Ange’s school of evangelisation "Jeunesse Lumière" (1984), co-founded the Carmel of Mary Virgin Missionary (1997), a small contemplative and missionary community of men and women, and was welcomed in 2018 by Toulon Diocese to found a community called "Communion of the Immaculate Heart of Mary" which was dissolved in 2019 when the accusations became known.

Valence Diocese announced on September 10 that the trial against Hostalier was conducted in conjunction with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

John Paul II's legacy? Judging by the dates a major portion of his misconduct happened under Benedict XVI. Why doesn't he get a mention?
