24 May is dedicated to Our Lady under the title 'Help of Christians'. It was under this title that Our Lady was invoked by Pope St Pius V during the battle of Lepanto in 1571. The victory was attributed to Our Lady, under a new title, Our Lady of Victories (and later, Our Lady of the Rosary because the instrument of victory was the prayer of the Rosary). This stained glass window of Our Lady of Victory is in the Basilica of Notre Dame des Victoires in Paris. She is clearly seen also as the Help of Christians, as we see the Christian people on the right approaching her in supplication.
