Vatican Synod Secretariat Cosmetically Distances Itself from Homosexual Report

The General Secretariat of the Synod has distanced itself from the pro-homosexual report prepared by Working Group No. 9 of the Synod on Synodality. This gesture, which amounts to little more than a fig leaf, followed a strong online backlash.

However, Leo XIV has taken no personnel action. And, even worse, he continues to appoint more pro-homosexual bishops.

The synod's report contained criticism of the Catholic apostolate 'Courage' that helps homosexuals to resist their temptations. It also presents flowery testimonies from people in homosexual "marriages". 'Courage' condemned the text for containing 'slander' and 'defamation'.

In a statement to Religión Confidencial, the Secretariat's communications team said that the published final report "cannot be attributed to the General Secretariat" and emphasised that they are merely "working documents".

The team added that its role was limited "exclusively to translating summaries, editing reports, and publishing and distributing them", stressing that the individual working groups operated "autonomously".

The report, published on 5 May, was coordinated by the pro-homosexual Archbishop of Lima, Cardinal Carlos Castillo, 76, a friend of Leo XIV.

The General Secretariat is headed by Cardinal Mario Grech (pictured), another pro-homosexual ally of Leo XIV.
