Cardinal Disguised as Layman: “I Have Muslim Friends Who Would Give Their Lives for Me”

Spanish born Rabat Cardinal Cristóbal López, Morocco, who usually represents conformist positions, has observed that Daesh kills more Muslims than Christians and presents an ideology condemned by most Muslims.

During the Spanish Missiology Week, López who had disguised himself as a layman, even criticised the oligarchs’ media saying they “do not help much to create a climate of dialogue since an extreme and minority position repeated so many times is presented as general.”

A member of Francis’ Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, he claimed that inter-religious dialogue is “as old as Revelation itself” – but was not able to prove this claim.

He added that “I have Muslim friends who would give their lives for me.”
