Mayor Threatens "Permanent" Closure of "Churches" Which Defy Coronavirus Panic (Video)

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio threatened on March 27 to “permanently” shut down houses of worship which continue to hold public services despite the city’s ban on gatherings of any size.

According to CNA (March 30), De Blasio cited a "small number of religious communities, specific churches, and specific synagogues,” that are continuing to hold religious services.

It is likely that De Blasio mainly meant synagogues, not Catholic churches, since New York Archdiocese and Brooklyn Diocese which cover all New York City, suspended the public celebration of Mass already on March 14 and March 16, respectively.
