@Mathathias Maccabeus I recall making no such public arguments. I recall simply posting a quote from the 1500's that has present day applications. There are some on GTV who are always looking for arguments, quarrels and for a fight but this writer is not among them. St. Paul warns the faithful several times, in fact, against quarreling in 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and Galatians.
"Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher, no drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, and no lover of money." 1 Timothy 3:2-3
"The women in like manner chaste, not slanderers, but sober, faithful in all things." 1 Timothy 3:11
"Do not rebuke an older man but exhort him as you would a father; treat younger men like brothers," 1 Timothy 5:1
"Besides that, they learn to be idlers, gadding about from house to house, and not only idlers but gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not." 1 Timothy 5:13
"If any one teaches otherwise and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching which accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit, he knows nothing; he has a morbid craving for controversy and for disputes about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, base suspicions, and wrangling among men who are depraved in mind and bereft of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain." 1 Timothy 6:3-5
"O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards the faith. Grace be with you." 1 Timothy 6:20-21
"Remind them of this, and charge them before the Lord to avoid disputing about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers." 2 Timothy 2:14
"Avoid such godless chatter, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will eat its way like gangrene." 2 Timothy 2:16-17
"Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth," 2 Timothy 2:23-25
"Bid the older women likewise to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to drink; they are to teach what is good," Titus 2:3
"Show yourself in all respects a model of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, gravity, and sound speech that cannot be censured, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us." Titus 2:7-8
"Remind them ... to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all men." Titus 3:1-2
"But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned." Titus 3:9-11
"But if you bite and devour one another take heed that you are not consumed by one another." Galatians 5:15
In keeping with Sacred Scripture, this type of behavior will no longer be tolerated on any of my posts. So consider yourself warned. Also, you might want to pass that around.
