While debating "into the ground" sounds neither charitable nor fruitful, I admit I do take pleasure in reciting KJV passages while surreptitiously introducing Protestants to the true faith.

Likewise, I admonish all Catholics to be prepared to do the same, for: "[B]e ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear"
True, it isn't charitable, but consider the source, eh? ;-). However, it is fruitful in two ways. First, discrediting heretics keeps them from misleading the undecided. Second, if I sow enough doubts, hopefully even the heretics will be more receptive to genuine missionaries... perhaps more charitable folks like yourself. :)
"they can often produce many scriptural proof texts to support their unique beliefs." So can we and some of us can debate them into the ground.
