Because the entire history of the Catholic Church is prefigured by the entire history of Israel in the Old Testament, then we can clearly see that the Novus Ordo was prefigured by the Abomination of Desolation from the Books of the Maccabees. Seeing the Novus Ordo as the Abomination of Desolation gives us the key to understanding the prophecy of Daniel's 70 weeks of years. In turn, that prophecy gives us the key to understand the Beast Out of the Sea, from the Book of the Apocalypse. Finally, once the Beast out of the Sea is identified, then the Two Witnesses also can be identified.
