Advent is a “state of mind”!

Advent is a “state of mind”! Gospel of November 29 first Sunday of Advent Dear brothers and sisters, while waiting for the Holy Christmas, the liturgy of next Sunday, first of Advent, invites us to "choose" to welcome God and not the sin that separates us from Him, just as the servants, from the parable told by Jesus and reported in the passage of the Gospel of Mark, do. In fact they "watch" to be able to welcome, at any moment, the Lord who comes. To better understand the "state of mind" with which we should live not only the season of Advent, but our entire life on earth, I think the words spoken by Pope Francis to young people last Sunday at the end of Holy Mass can really help us. In fact, Pope Francis, on the occasion of the delivery of the Cross and the Icon of the Heavenly Mother by young Panamanians to the Portuguese youth, symbols of the World Youth Day to be held in Lisbon in 2023, invited them to dream " big ". We are not made, Pope Francis said to dream of holidays or weekends, but big dreams. “But where do we start from to make great dreams come true?”, The pope asked himself, and then replied: “From the great choices”. Indeed, the Pope said, we become, for better or for worse, what we choose. If we choose to steal, we become thieves. If we choose to think of ourselves, we become self-centred. If we choose to hate, we become angry. If we choose to spend hours on a cell phone, we become addicted. Yet if we choose God, daily we grow in his love, and if we choose to love others, we find true happiness.
