No one is a Prophet in his homeland
July 4 Sunday XIV of the O. T.

Dear brothers and sisters, the passage fron the gospel of Mark we are going to listen on Sunday July 4, reminds us once again the pain and bitterness that Jesus felt at the disbelief and contempt shown by his compatriots and that will lead him to pronounce those famous words: A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house. Paradoxically enough, the reason, was that his fellow citizens were convinced that they knew him… Also today, unfortunately, there are many who, falsely believing they know Jesus, do not take seriously his invitation to conversion, thus excluding themselves from the path of salvation.
