I spoke with a friend (actual distant family member too). She was a victim of an assault that is most typically inflicted on females. Each time the subject arose ... just the subject... not her personal event; she went into a panic.
After trying to forget that I allowed myself be assaulted with an untested concoction I was given my 'card'. Each time I think or see that icon of abuse on myself, I panic. And, from the perspective of a 3rd party... it was not all that dissimilar to my female friend.
Why do I feel it occurs?
1) Reminder of the assault
2) Proof of the assault (can't I ever forget... PLEASE)
3) Knowledge that it can HAPPEN AGAIN.
The existence of the card, thinking of it, and its vision are reliving the assault. Each time. Oh, I called her and asked her questions a few minutes ago... without any intentional prompting (I tried to remove unintentional... but I R Human), it was her who correlated the two during this conversation.
