Despite Coronavirus: Cardinal Performs Strange Episcopal Consecration

Jakarta Cardinal Ignatius Suharyo consecrated Bishop Siprianus Hormat in a standing March 19 ceremony in Ruteng, Indonesia.

32 bishops, hundreds of priests, and around 1,000 Catholics participated.

Father Habur told UcaNews.com (March 20) that a Government appeal to postpone the celebration, came to late, only few hours before the ceremonia was due to start.

However, additional events were cancelled and sanitary protocols were obeyed.
