Coronavirus Unable to Kill Adoration

During the coronavirus crisis, Saint John Neumann Church in Gaithersburg, Washington Archdiocese, moved perpetual Eucharistic Adoration from a smaller chapel to the main church in order to provide increase distance between adorers.

Only days later the church was closed. However, the priests found a solution. The Blessed Sacrament was relocated behind a glass exterior wall.

So, parishioners continue to pray from outdoors.

These are the instructions for adoration to be allowed to continue -
1. Praise Him: He is the King of Kings! He Reigns. Don't you forget it! Let Him know you believe and entrust your heart to His.
2. Listen to Governor Hogan: Practice social distancing, no more than 10 in one place, wash those hands a lot, and stay home except for necessary things. Take this seriously.
3. No Communal Chairs: Pretty …More

3. No Communal Chairs: Pretty much anything communal is a bad idea these days including those chairs that have been hanging around adoration. Thank you to whomever left them (a serious thank you...it was very generous) but I had to remove them (email me if you want them back). Bring your own chair and wipe down the benches.

4. For Those in Cars: Turn your engine off while you are at the Church. It cuts down on noise, reduces pollution, and gives you a zero chance of carbon monoxide poisoning.

5. Adoration Online: If you can't get out you may be interested to know that there is adoration live streamed in a number of places. Here is one that I particularly like which is live at the Tyburn Convent in London (the location where many Catholics were drawn, quartered and hanged for their faith - look it up). You'll be praying with some holy nuns.

We must always have courage, and if some spiritual languor comes upon us, let us run to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and let us place ourselves in the midst of the heavenly perfumes, and we will undoubtedly regain our strength.

Christianity, which has been ludicrously accused of being gloomy and the enemy of life, has distinguished itself among the creeds of the world by its quite peculiar insistence on the fact that life is sacred, even when it is sad; that a man is sacred, even when he is oneself.
