The Oldest Group of Sedevacantists in the U.S.

Daniel Hamiche
presented on Lettre de Paix liturgique the sedevacantists and the independent chapels in the United States. Sedevacantists believe that since Pius XII there is no valid pope anymore. The oldest sedevacantist organisation in the United States is the Congregation of Mary, Queen Immaculate.

This group was founded in 1968 in Idaho by Francis Schuckardt, a layman. He surrounded himself with some Jesuits and diocesan priests. In 1971 Sedevacantist Bishop Daniel Brown convinced Schuckardt to become a priest and a bishop, and Schuckardt agreed. Brown was consecrated a bishop by the Old Catholics but quickly separated from them. Only ten years after Schuckardt’s ordinations, he found himself in charge of 120 nuns, 6 priests, 61 clerics and brothers, a school from kindergarten to senior high school, and several hospices.

In 1984 there was a split in the Congregation of Mary, Queen Immaculate, when Father Denis Chicoine, Schuckardt’s longtime assistant, accused Schuckardt of homosexual harassment, drug addiction, and financial incompetence. Chicoine had the backing of the vast majority of the religious and laity alike. So, Schuckardt left the group, went to the Seattle area with some followers, and died in 2006.

After Schuckhard’s departure the Congregation of Mary, Queen Immaculate had no bishop. So, they, contacted in 1985 Sedevacantist Bishop Moises Carmona Rivera, who was ordained by Monsignor Thuc, and asked him to ordain priests. Carmona agreed and ordained three priests, among them Father Pivarunas, an American of Lithuanian and Italian descent. Six years later, the 33-years-old Pivarunas was chosen to become a bishop. In 1993 he consecrated Father Dolan, a former SSPX priest, as a second bishop. Both turned out to be capable administrators whose pastoral zeal caused a remarkable growth. Now, the Congregation of Mary, Queen Immaculate has 50 chapels in 32 US states, in addition to locations in nine European countries, ten elementary schools, six high schools, one minor seminary, one major seminary in Omaha, and six convents of nuns.

@Adrien Some strange facts regarding John XXIII that you may not be aware of.

John XXIII (for a reason only known to himself) took the name of a former anti-pope of the 15th century.

Strange similarities between the two John XXIII's

Former Antipope John XXIII reigned for 5 years. 1410–1415
Our John XXIII also reigned for 5 years 1958 - 1962

Former Antipope John XXIII called a council in the 4th year of his pontificate - The Council of Constanze.
The modern John XXIII ALSO called a Council in the 4th year of HIS pontificate - Vatican II

Former Antipope John XXIII died just before the 3rd session of his Council
.....and strangely the 20th cent. John XXIII died just before the 3rd session of Vatican II!

Former Antipope John XXIII was deposed and called an "antipope" After his removal from Office, his successor
declared all previous sessions of the Council of Constanze null and void. and the Council was reconvened

Our Lord is Lord of ALL - With perfect WILL and intent He has permitted these coincidences connecting those 2 former Pontiffs to take place.

No sect (CMRI) is part of the Mystical Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who reject His unique Church, oppose the Divine Son of God and His work. The successors of the Apostle Peter are the obvious and visible sign chosen by God. One of the upsides is the easier differentiation between the Church of God and the churches founded by men, whatever are their intentions.

Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) who is now a blessed spirit in Heaven, is a real Roman Pontiff and successor of the Apostle Peter. If it were not the case, two events would have occurred during his lifetime:

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE GIFT OF PROPHECY At least one person would have announced that God, the Virgin Mary or another heavenly spirit revealed to him that John XXIII is an antipope. This prophet would have had a minimum of visibility at the universal level as well as acceptance by some catholic faithfuls and some priests.

THE INDEFECTIBILITY OF THE CHURCH At least one Catholic Bishop (in communion with the Church up to that moment) would have publicly declared that John XXIII is an antipope.

All this during his pontificate! Also, we should always keep in mind that among all clerics, only the holder of the Petrinian Ministry, therefore Sovereign Pontiff, is personally protected by the Divine promises and not necessarily the other Bishops whatever is their assignment or title, even not at the top of the seemingly apparent pyramid. Pope John XXIII is an authentic Roman Pontiff therefore Sedevacantism is heretical and schismatic.

God doesn't allow us to leave His Church to follow another clergy. Luke 10 :16¨He that heareth you, heareth Me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth Me; and he that despiseth Me, despiseth Him that sent Me¨.

"17. Therefore, there exists a single Church of Christ, which subsists in the Catholic Church, governed by the Successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him. The Churches which, while not existing in perfect communion with the Catholic Church, remain united to her by means of the closest bonds, that is, by apostolic succession and a valid Eucharist, are true particular Churches.

The Churches which, while not existing in perfect communion with the Catholic Church, remain united to her by means of the closest bonds, that is, by apostolic succession and a valid Eucharist, are true particular Churches.

Therefore, the Church of Christ is present and operative also in these Churches, even though they lack full communion with the Catholic Church, since they do not accept the Catholic doctrine of the Primacy, which, according to the will of God, the Bishop of Rome objectively has and exercises over the entire Church. This text Dominus Iesus, from Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, is not a dogmatic declaration. The Revelation is not silent on the spiritual situation of schismatics.

1 John 2 :19 They went out from us but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us: but that they may be manifest, that they are not all of us.

1º-Did that happen on Anacletus II reign? No. Was Anacletus II an atipope? Yes. Therefore, this event does not necessarily, as you say, occur during the reign of each an every antipope. It also never happened during Avignon. But whatever.
A profecy you want? Which year was the 3rd secret of Fatima suposed to be revealed on? Ah, right, during Roncalli's reign. Too bad him impeded it's publication, we'll never know what it says.
2º-At least one bishop? Pierre Martin Ngô Dinh Thuc. Lefevbre also said he was not sure if Roncalli was pope, look it up.

But, does any of that matter? Isn't it written in Mathew 7:15-20? "You will recognize them by their fruits.", not by any bullet-point list.

Also:
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark them who make dissensions (divisions) and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned and avoid them.

Ah, yes, it is us, not Roncalli, the one suspected of being a modernist heretic by the Lateran University and the one known to visit the Grand Lodge of Paris every Thursday, who is contrary to the doctrine.

I think the bishop contacted in 1985 was Bp. George Musey, who had himself been consecrated by Bp. Carmona three years earlier or so.

"In 1984 there was a split in the Congregation of Mary..." How could anyone not see this coming with a group of schismatics? :D
Drew Meikle
Indeed, the Bergoglians are very united... doubtlessly fruit of the "Spirit". Which one do you suppose?
Ultraviolet
The Church was, is, and always shall be united under the Pope. The current one shed the name isn't "Bergoglio" either. Last time I checked, the current Supreme Pontiff was Francis.
