Bishop Participates in Paris-Chartres Pilgrimage

Signs and wonders still happen. Chartres Bishop Philippe Christory, 64, has participated in the Roman Rite Paris-Chartres pilgrimage organised by the Ecclesia Dei groups.

This is a courageous decision given the unmitigated hatred, Francis is displaying against the Church’s millennium old liturgy.

Christory is an engineer, a former officer in the French Marine, a former member of the international board of the Emmanuel community, and a former parish-priest.

Below are videos showing the pilgrimage to Chartres in the bad weather, a priest holding out in the rain and the private Masses on Sunday morning.

Michael Matt was on the way from Paris to Chartres (FSSP) that held on and not the other side that gave up (FSSPX).

@Sally Dorman , @P. O'B No, actually, it's quite different than you might think. The one pilgrimage which FSSP/Matt participated in began earlier in the week and ended on Pentecost just as weather turned.

The SSPX pilgrimage normally sets out on Pentecost weekend, and could not leave because of the weather conditions already underway.

It's one thing to already be out in the fields and needing to get back to civilization - do or die. It's another thing altogether to lead throngs of people -- young children and old adults included -- out into those conditions where it would not even be possible to set up camps.

I'm sure that knowing the facts you will appreciate the difference now. God bless.

P.S. and actually.....it's very metaphorical in a powerful way. SSPX refused to enter the storm and chaos brought about by Vatican II. They kept their flocks safely in the harbor of Tradition. And now Catholics lost out in the fields of chaos that followed Vatican II are trying to find their way back to safe harbor.

What a powerful video of all those magnificent priests offering their magnificent Masses in that tent. The magnitude of spiritual power pouring out of that humble abode as they all offer up Christ in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is absolutely mind-boggling.
